What is it?

The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Southeast Asia Ready Talents integrates job-matching and reskilling to help PMET jobseekers gain new skills and prepare them for new job roles in Sales & Marketing, Trade Finance, Account, Franchise, Product and Supply Chain Management within the Southeast Asian region.

The PCP is administered by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF). Through a Place-and-Train mode, participating companies will employ the trainees before they embark on a rigorous training comprising facilitated / classroom training, and structured On-the-Job-Training (OJT).

The duration of the PCP is 9 months, comprising structured On-the-Job-Training (OJT) with the hiring company, 45 hours of facilitated classroom training and 45 hours of mentoring and networking opportunities provided by SBF. A unique aspect of this PCP is that the coverage of the facilitated classroom training modules will be customized to the region where the PCP candidate will be posted to.

Programme Support for Companies

This PCP aims to help lower the companies’ cost of hiring PMETs by providing salary support at 70% of participant’s salary capped at $4,000 per month for the duration of training. Enhanced salary support of 90% of participant’s salary capped at $6,000 per month will be applicable for Singapore Citizens (SC) who have been unemployed for more than 6 months, or mature SC PMETs who are aged 40 and above.

In addition to salary support, participating companies would also receive course fee support of up to 90% to help lower the fees incurred.

Who can apply?

To apply, you should:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  • Be at least 21 years old;
  • Graduated or completed National Service for at least 2 years;
  • Be newly hired and nominated by an eligible participating company for the PCP; and
  • Not be in a similar job role prior to joining the PCP.

How does it work?

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
