What is it?

This Professional Conversion Programme aims to equip trainees with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career as a Component OEM Engineer / Assistant Engineer in the Precision Engineering sector.

How does it work?

The PCP for Component OEM Engineer / Assistant Engineer is a 6-month programme which operates on a Place-and-Train mode. Participating companies employ the candidates before they undergo facilitated training and structured On-the-Job-Training (OJT) as mapped out by the company’s learning and development roadmap. Customised programmes are designed for different job roles, which are further tailored to individual’s development needs so as to equip them with the relevant skills and competencies for a successful career conversion.

Course Pre-Requisites Engineering or related background preferred
To apply, you should:
  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  • Be at least 21 years old;
  • Have graduated or ORD-d for at least 2 years;
  • Be newly hired and nominated by an eligible participating
  • company for the PCP; and
  • Not be in a similar job role prior to joining the PCP.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer's selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a particpating company before embarking on the programme.
