What is it?

Singapore attracts global Biopharmaceuticals companies to locate manufacturing plants here. These world class manufacturing plants produce a wide range of products such as small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), drug products and biologics drug substances.

As part of the Adapt & Grow initiative, the Attach and Train (AnT) programme for Biologics Manufacturing is a talent development programme aimed at building a pipeline of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biologics manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand.  Participants of the AnT programme for Biologics Manufacturing are not employees of the companies but will be provided with training and work attachments in top Biologics manufacturing companies in advance of job placement.

As new entrants, trainees will be equipped with necessary competencies to embark on a career in the Biologics manufacturing industry. Acquisition of skills is done through a combination of facilitated classroom training and structured on-the-job training for trainees to take on manufacturing related job roles within the industry.


Who can apply?

To apply, you should:

  • Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
  • Have fulfilled National Service obligations;
  • Be a new entrant to the Biopharmaceuticals* manufacturing industry and should not be holding a bond obligation with any organisation ;
  • Possess at least an Engineering/ Science related NITEC/ Higher NITEC/ Diploma/ Degree

*Refers to both Biologics and Pharmaceuticals manufacturing industry.

Up to 24 months, comprising of facilitated classroom training and structured on-the-job training

Twice a year.

The AnT programme for Biologics Manufacturing programme consists of 3 months of facilitated classroom training conducted at Singapore Polytechnic which leads to the attainment of Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Higher Certificate in Process Technology (Biologics Manufacturing). After completion of facilitated classroom training, trainees will embark on 15 to 21 months of structured On-The-Job (OJT) training with top Biologics manufacturing companies to facilitate the application of learning and to ensure that trainees acquire necessary competencies.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s interview and selection process and be offered a training position by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
