What is it?

Singapore attracts global Biopharmaceuticals companies to locate manufacturing plants here. These world class manufacturing plants produce a wide range of products such as small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), drug products and biologics drug substances.

 

As part of the Adapt & Grow initiative, the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing is a talent development programme aimed at building a pipeline of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry. Participants of the PCP for Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing are employed by participating companies before they undergo the programme.

 

As new entrants to the Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry, individuals will be equipped with necessary competencies to embark on a career in the Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry. Acquisition of skills is done through a combination of facilitated classroom training and structured on-the-job training (OJT) for individuals to take on manufacturing related job roles within the industry.


Who can apply?

To apply, you should:

 

•          Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;

•          Have fulfilled National Service obligations;

•          Be a new entrant to the Biopharmaceuticals* manufacturing industry and should not be holding a bond obligation with any organisation;

•          Possess at least a related NITEC/ Higher NITEC/ Diploma/ Degree

 

*Refers to both Biologics and Pharmaceuticals manufacturing industry.

The PCP for Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing comprises of up to 18 months of facilitated classroom training and structured OJT. The facilitated classroom training conducted at Singapore Polytechnic will lead to the attainment of 3 Statements of Attainment under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ). The structured OJT will be conducted at top Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing companies to facilitate the application of learning and to ensure that individuals acquire necessary competencies.

Applications received would be forwarded to participating company for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating company’s interview and selection process and be offered a position by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
